Chiropractor Makeup Artist?

Chiropractor Makeup Artist?

A patient who is a makeup artist asked me why I use different adjusting techniques on different people. Or, from visit to visit, I adjust her a number of different ways. I put it in her terminology: Some makeup artists only use one product line. They may know everything about that brand. And everyone who goes to that makeup artist knows she’ll receive the products of that brand and that brand only. It’s Clinique only – a great product for a certain person provided by an expert in Clinique. Another makeup artist uses a number of different brands and tools for her clients because her clients have different needs based on age, skin texture, personal preferences, image they’d like to project, and so forth. She needs to know which products are perfect for each client. From one event to another, the client may need a different look, a different color, a different application of makeup. Or, one day the client is really tired and dehydrated, the next time she’s on her A-game and feeling great – both situations affect skin texture. Though I am not a makeup artist, I am in the second category as a chiropractor. While Clinique is in my repertoire, I also know MAC, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Trish McEvoy, and others. A baby is adjusted differently than a toddler, a teen, a pregnant mom, a corporate executive, a busy mom, and an athlete. I need to how to adjust, when not to adjust, where to adjust, what to look for, what to figure out, which technique is perfect for that person that day, which style is perfect for the same person under different conditions. That’s the science and art of chiropractic.
