FAQs

The initial visit will take about 45 minutes. It will include a consultation, a review of your case history, high speed digital x-rays (unless you’re pregnant), a posture and range of motion assessment, an evaluation of spinal biomechanics, a gait analysis, and any other tests Dr. Caroline feels are necessary to determine spinal dysfunction.

The second visit is called the Report of Findings which will take about 20-minutes. Your spinal exam findings and x-rays will be discussed, as well as a treatment plan, and payment options. Future visits take no more than 10-15 minutes on average depending on the services provided. Everyone is welcome to participate in chiropractic care to the degree that they are motivated and able to do so. The choice is yours.

Your progress depends on many factors including genetics; degree of spine and nerve damage; past spinal trauma; current level of fitness, and willingness to follow through with the treatment plan per the doctor’s recommendations. It took years for damage to accumulate, therefore it will take time for heal the most recent layers of neurological trauma.

Dr. Caroline bases her recommendations on the exam findings, her clinical expertise, and the science of biomechanics, neurology, and orthopedics. A few visits may give you patch up or short-term symptom relief. On the other hand, in what we call Initial Intensive Care, you may be coming in for several adjustments per week over a period of 3-10 weeks. The intention is to create stability for long term correction of the problem.

After completing Initial Intensive Care, at his or her request, a patient may choose Wellness Care. At this point, the focus is on maintaining progress.  We will build upon improving posture, flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, nutrition and stress management. While some patients come to Balance Atlanta for a few visits, others remain practice members for nearly two decades.

Benefits depend on the the type of plan you and your employer have chosen. There is an enormous difference between carriers, plans, health care coverage, and deductibles. Balance Atlanta will verify your insurance at the time of your second visit. Until insurance benefits are verified, patients are on a cash basis and payment is due in full at the time of service.

Appointments take just a few minutes and usually there is no wait time to be seen. We plan our patient schedule carefully for your convenience.  You may call at the last minute and schedule an appointment that very day. Simplicity and transparency is how we operate. The patient is always in charge of his or her care.

Naturally there is a place for both drugs and surgery in times of crisis. Yet on a day-to-day basis, finding and correcting the cause of a problem makes more sense. Who wants to risk the potential side-effects of drugs or face the risks associated with surgery? Chiropractic offers non-invasive solutions to health concerns by honoring the body’s natural healing abilities.

Patients who focus on wellness choose chiropractic as a natural component of a preventive healthy lifestyle. While some families enjoy the benefits of chiropractic throughout all stages of life, others receive adjustments on reactionary, symptom-based occurrence. In either case, everyone is welcome at Balance Atlanta.

Proper spinal care should begin right after birth to ensure the delivery was not traumatic to the central nerve system. With advanced clinical training, Dr. Caroline has a specialty in caring for newborns and children, as well adjusting adults and athletes.  With the stress of computers, backpacks, sports and coping with life’s challenges, all kids should be checked for spinal subluxation throughout all stages of growth. As adults, maintaining a stress-free nerve system with chiropractic is essential for keeping up with the demands of aging, family and career. Later, in our senior years, who wouldn’t want to be active with a sound mind and body to match? In chiropractic, we say people should be adjusted from their first breath until their last breath.

No. The purpose of chiropractic is to restore your body to function efficiently by removing layers of physical, chemical and emotional stress that impede the nerve system’s ability to manage the flow of information to muscles, organs and glands. Remember, your body was designed to function like a well-oiled machine. Adjustments, nutrition, exercise, and stress management bring the pendulum back in balance so you can stay heathy and active your whole life long.
