A Special Needs Miracle Story

A Special Needs Miracle Story

I met Dr. Caroline almost three years ago now. Wow, it is hard to believe it has been that long ago!  I was attending a Mom’s Day event and Dr. C was the guest speaker.  Listening to her deliver her speech and seeing the passion in her eyes made me a believer of Chiropractic care.  Dr. C offered a consultation visit to those of us that were interested, and I jumped at the opportunity. The event I was attending was a day of pampering for Special Needs Moms.  My name is Keena and my five year old daughter, Kendall has Cerebral Palsy.  Oh, and a long list of accompanying diagnosis…Tracheotomy, Global Developmental Delay, Seizures, Asthma, Reactive Airway Disease, Club feet, Respiratory Failure, Ventilator Dependant, Auditory Neuropathy, Cortical Visual Impairment, Optic Nerve Atrophy, G-Tube, Nissen Fundoplication and Aspiration/Reflux.  I had tried so many things for my daughter and was definitely open to non-conventional/holistic approaches.

After my consultation (and first adjustment), I knew Dr. C was the right choice for us.  That night, I slept like a baby!! I had not slept that sound in 3 years!  It was the magic hands of Dr. C during that one adjustment that made me truly understand the healing from the head (or neck) down.  Not only was I sleeping better, my digestion was better, my physical balance was better (didn’t even fall over during my infrequent yoga classes), my mental state was clear and I was a happier/less stressed person.

Now, what Dr. C’s magic hands did for Kendall was a different story.  Kendall suffered brain damage at birth and the majority of the damage was to her brain stem.  The magic hands would dance their way across her little skull making very slight tweaks here and there.  The muscle tension would slowly leave Kendall’s limbs and you would see the life dancing in her eyes.  Because Kendall is non-verbal, her tongue and eyes are how she communicates.  Lying on the table, she would begin to wink, blink and flicker her tongue.  She was talking to us! Blabbering away in her Kendall-speak!  As our journey under the care of the magic hands continued; Kendall began to coo and make sounds, starting moving her limbs more intentionally and independently and her attention span, eye movement tracking ability increased.  Everyone was taking note of the new Kendall! Her teachers and therapist were super impressed.  One of her nurses was so intrigued that she became a believer of the healing of Chiropractors.  Previously, the nurse had a family member have a bad experience with a chiropractor.  After seeing the progress in Kendall, she changed her point of view on chiropractors.

We are only in the early path of our testimony/journey but know that those magic hands are responsible for so many of our blessings!
