This birth was such a positive experience.

I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that the baby was born on March 30th.  I plan to get back to see you soon!  We’ve been out of town for a bit visiting family and are just now settling into a routine.  I wanted to thank you so much for your care and treatment.

I think I had the easiest, fastest labor I could have imagined and I know without a doubt that you deserve a majority of the credit for taking such good care of me.  My water broke at 3:30 on Friday morning.  Haynes and I went to see my midwife just to confirm that my water broke and see how far along I was in labor. She checked me and told me I was in labor, but definitely had some time. So, we went to Atlantic Station, had a leisurely lunch and did some shopping. I didn’t have any contractions until about 1:15 when we decided to drive to the hospital.

The contractions sped up in the car, but were manageable, and I was able to walk into the hospital on my own and check myself in. Basically, I had no discomfort at all for early labor.  I arrived at the hospital at 1:36 and the baby was born at 2:36 in just three pushes!  The birth tub didn’t even have time to get filled, and no one was paying me any attention until I told them “his head is out!”  We named him James Haynes Gentry, IV and call him “Jay.”  So, again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!  This birth was such a positive experience, and it was so amazing to see how my body worked when it was cared for properly.  See you soon! – Holly G.
