Difficult Cases is a specialty created by Dr. Caroline and exclusive to Balance Atlanta. Nowhere in the world will you find this extraordinary approach to healing where physical structure, brain health, and organ and gland function are combined into one package.

The degree of commitment and urgency of both the client and Dr. Caroline are taken to a new level because lives are on the line—literally. It is a recognition that there are no short-term solutions to chronic problems.

When the emotional toll has reached rock bottom and fueled by frustration, these practice members are not ready to give up. It is time to take action.

Originally, most clients came to Balance Atlanta for reasons typically associated with chiropractic care. Yet, in nearly twenty years of reading between the lines of health history forms, Dr. Caroline became acutely aware that practice members are fighting battles of extreme stress despite the positive image they project on the exterior.

The number of prescription drugs consumed, exhaustion, strained family dynamics, and palpable chemical, emotional, and physical imbalances evident in a taxed nervous system support this observation. Chronic stress is grinding away at the happiness of our community, one person at a time. This occurs slowly and silently over time until crises erupt.

With those in the problematic cases niche, the veneer of polite formality is dropped (oh yes…I’m fine…everything is great…), and the truth is told eventually: roommate marriages, impending divorces, loneliness, and lack of purpose; teens who are exhibiting troublesome behavior; addictions and compulsions; family members with special needs; pressure cooker careers; being sandwiched between caring for children and aging parents; debilitating effects of disease or injury; meeting the academic, social and material expectations of society.

While these practice members have been perfectly successful in many areas, there is still something missing – mental and physical well-being. They’ve been to many faceless doctors, no one has helped – or even really cared. Thousands of dollars have already been spent on supplements, but it seems more like an expensive guessing game at this point. Prescription drugs, advertised with frightening side effects, are not a viable solution for those who seek to correct, not mask, the problem. An integrated perspective with the best of both allopathic and holistic health care is the solution.

As one patient said, “Dr. Caroline is the kind of doctor you actually WANT to go to.” Where else can you find a doctor who becomes a trusted advisor – one who listens and does not judge; a person who looks at the whole person – not just a symptom, sickness, insurance code, or dog-eared case file; a scientist who seeks to find the cause of the issue with objective measures; a caring mentor who shines the light on possibility with practical solutions; and someone who, even in your darkest moments, will lift you up with kindness, commitment, wisdom, and humor?

This niche and the associated treatment programs were developed out of necessity. Caring for people in the difficult cases category fills a significant gap where our current health system has failed individuals of all ages who are in very challenging situations.

The plan of action is unique to each person…

…a custom approach that may include any of the services offered at Balance Atlanta including chiropractic, lab testing, functional medicine, BrainCore Therapy, nutrition and lifestyle consulting, stress management techniques, one-on-one experiential trips with Dr. Caroline outside of the office, and more.

No single case is alike, therefore the impersonal cookie-cutter style of conventional allopathic care does not exist at Balance Atlanta.
